The Truth

A Message from Rock Harbor Truth

This is a season of steady growth.

With our new website live, global podcast recognition, and ongoing community partnerships across Cape Cod, Rock Harbor Truth is building the infrastructure needed to support survivors in meaningful, sustainable ways.

Our focus remains clear: truth, accountability, and connection.

We are grateful for the growing community that makes this work possible — and we look ahead with resolve.

Remembering Aaron:  6/30/1998 – 2/25/2024

We continue to hold Aaron Bushnell in our hearts.

His life, his questions, and his desire for meaning remain part of this community’s story. We honor him by continuing to create spaces where truth is spoken, support is available, and no one walks alone.  You can listen to the episode where people share their memories of him here.

Our New Website Is Live

We are proud to officially spotlight our new website:

www.rockharbortruth.org

The new site makes it easier to:

  • Learn about our mission and leadership
  • Access survivor resources
  • Listen to podcast episodes
  • Stay updated on events and advocacy efforts

This launch represents an important step forward in making our work more accessible, transparent, and sustainable. We invite you to explore and share it.

Podcast Milestone: Top 10% Globally

We’re honored to share that The Cult on the Cape has been rated in the Top 10% of all global podcasts by Listen Notes.

This recognition reflects the power of survivor storytelling and the growing demand for thoughtful conversations about high-control environments, accountability, and healing.

If you haven’t listened yet — or if you know someone who would benefit — we invite you to tune in and share.

If you are a survivor who feels ready to share your story — publicly or anonymously — we welcome you to reach out at rockharbortruth@gmail.com. Your voice matters.

In the News

An article about the Community of Jesus was published in The Provincetown Independent.  Read it here!

Many have begun writing Letters to the Editor to highlight the importance of this continued coverage and the proper authorities looking into issues of abuse at the Community of Jesus.  Please feel free to add your voice to ours in this way.

We appreciate local journalism that continues to bring transparency and context to these conversations and honor all survivors who have spoken their truth.

The Virtual Reading with Sarah Patrick

We were honored to host a virtual reading of her memoir, Binding Shame, and conversation with author Sarah Patrick:

If you didn’t get to join, you can watch the reading here.

Building Community Partnerships on Cape Cod

Over the past several weeks, we have been meeting with community partners across Cape Cod to help identify and strengthen the network of resources available to survivors when they leave high-control environments.

These conversations focus on:

  • Housing support
  • Trauma-informed therapy
  • Legal assistance
  • Community-based services

Our goal is to ensure that no one leaving finds themselves without direction or support.

You can find an ever-growing list of community resources on our website here.

Coming Soon: Happy Hour with Rock Harbor Truth

In the coming weeks, we will begin hosting Happy Hour with Rock Harbor Truth — a monthly gathering for survivors.

These gatherings will be:

  • Survivor-only
  • Informal and supportive
  • A space to connect, share updates, and build community

More details will be shared soon. We’re looking forward to creating space for connection.
