This summer, we are seeing the power of community in action.
Survivors are reconnecting with one another. Community members are asking thoughtful questions. Public conversations continue to grow. More people are stepping forward to support efforts centered on truth, accountability, and healing.
When we launched Rock Harbor Truth, we weren’t focused on numbers. We were focused on people. Yet the milestones we’ve reached together tell an important story: survivor voices are being heard, communities are paying attention, and together we are building something meaningful.
Thank you for helping us reclaim the light.
Community Walk for Truth
The Community Walk for Truth continues to grow.
What began as a simple expression of solidarity has become a meaningful opportunity for survivors, family members, friends, and supporters to come together and send a message: truth matters, healing matters, and no one should have to walk alone.

Community Spotlight: Beverly Biondi
We’re excited to welcome Beverly Biondi as Rock Harbor Truth’s new Volunteer Coordinator.
βHaving had a 40-year career as a physical therapist, I have always been interested in the health and well-being of people. Living in Brewster, in close proximity to the Community of Jesus, I have heard many stories from both current and past members of what life is like there. The common theme was control, punishment, and obedience. The church I was raised in on Cape Cod values acceptance, love, joy and freedom. Rock Harbor Truthβs mission of helping survivors flourish, as well as giving guidance and care to members of the COJ who wishes to leave, closely aligns with my passion to help people.β
As our organization continues to grow, volunteers play an essential role in helping us fulfill our mission. Bev will help coordinate volunteer opportunities, connect community members with projects, and support our expanding programs and events.

Whether you have a few hours to give or would like to become more involved, we’d love to hear from you.
Please join us in welcoming Bev and thanking her for sharing her time, talents, and passion in service of survivors.
Celebrating Our Community
One of the greatest joys of this work is witnessing survivors continue to grow, create, and thrive.
This month we’re celebrating several members of our community whose accomplishments remind us that healing is not just about leaving something behindβit’s also about building something new.
Beth Granger’s memoir, Born and Razed, recently received two literary awards, bringing wider recognition to her powerful story of survival and recovery. She received first place for the Journey Award from 2025 Chanticleer International Book Awards and won the Canreads Best Memoir (Resilience & Growth) for outstanding achievement in Canadian Literature. You can purchase Bethβs book here.
Carrie Buddington, author and longtime advocate, recently purchased her first homeβa milestone many of us understand represents far more than real estate. This month, she was also featured on a podcast, continuing to share her experiences and insights with broader audiences. Carrie is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. You can purchase Carrieβs book, Exquisite Torture, here.
Sarah Patrick continues to educate and inspire through her work and will soon be presenting at the Telling our Stories Speaker Series, giving a talk about Life Inside a Cult of Obedience on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at 7 pm. Sarah is the winner of the 2025 International Cultic Studies Associationβs Dianne Casoni International Award. You can purchase her book, Binding Shame, here.
Ewan Whyte was recently featured on Dr. Steven Hassan’s podcast, helping bring greater awareness to survivor experiences and the lasting impact of coercive environments. Ewan is a writer and translator who has written for several publications and has published several books. You can purchase his book, Mothers of Invention, here.
Congratulations to Beth, Carrie, Sarah, Ewan, and to all those quietly rebuilding, creating, healing, and finding their voices. Your successes matter, and we’re honored to celebrate them.
