The Truth

A Message from Rock Harbor Truth

A new year always carries a sense of possibility — and this one truly feels different.

We’re stepping into 2026 with clarity, momentum, and exciting growth. Thanks to your support, Rock Harbor Truth is entering a new chapter rooted in sustainability, expansion, and deeper service to survivors.

A Major Milestone: We’re Officially a Nonprofit

We’re proud to share that Rock Harbor Truth for the Safety of Children has officially received its nonprofit designation.

This milestone allows us to:

  • Apply for grants
  • Expand survivor services
  • Build long-term, sustainable programs
  • Strengthen our advocacy and education efforts
  • Allows donors to receive a tax deduction for their charitable contribution and investments in our work.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped make this possible.

🌐 A New Website Is Coming Soon

We’re putting the finishing touches on a brand-new Rock Harbor Truth website, launching in the coming weeks.

The new site will make it easier to:

  • Access resources
  • Learn about our work
  • Listen to podcast episodes
  • Get involved and stay connected
  • Donate online

Stay tuned — we can’t wait to share it with you.

🧠 Expanding Support for Survivors

With nonprofit status secured, we are beginning work on grant proposals to fund:

  • Legal services for survivors
  • Therapy and trauma-informed mental health support

Our goal is simple: remove barriers to care and help survivors access the support they deserve.

📖 Upcoming Event: Virtual Reading with Sarah Patrick

We’re honored to host a virtual reading of her memoir, Binding Shame, and conversation with author Sarah Patrick:

🎙 Continuing the Podcast — And Inviting Your Voice

The Cult on the Cape podcast continues, and we remain committed to survivor-centered storytelling.

If you are a survivor who feels ready to share your story — publicly or anonymously — we welcome you to reach out at rockharbortruth@gmail.com. Your voice matters.

📚 Community Conversations & Book Clubs

We’re inspired by the growing number of book clubs engaging with this work. Several groups have read books related to coercive control, trauma, and recovery — and have hosted authors and survivors for thoughtful Q&A conversations.

If you would like to host an author or survivor at your next book club, please let us know at rockharbortruth@gmail.com.

These spaces of dialogue and learning are powerful, and we’re grateful for each one.
